My life has been a series of adventures strung together with times of transformation, bliss, boredom, awakening, heartbreak, understanding myself, and the 'why of me' bringing me that continues to open and unfold - sometimes leading to deeper mysteries and wonder. I never lived the life anyone expected me to, instead of moving from the heart with a focus on service to others. My journey has brought me to almost every continent, often in the midst of civil conflict and genocide, working with refugees, trafficked people, political asylums, people with HIV/AIDS, and most currently, military veterans. Trauma has been the common thread of my life work and helping people resolve trauma, become their best selves find strength, wisdom, and from their lived experience. My own experience with post-traumatic stress from assignments in conflict areas put me on a quest to help heal my inner wounds and in turn the wounds of others. This brought me to find relief and healing in breathwork and meditation and I now teach these techniques. Often living in remote and sometimes adverse settings, I developed a necessary knack for acquiring skills to become self-reliant around food, making something out of nothing. Gardening and preserving food and understanding the natural world around me are a part of who I am. I love to share what I learn and what has helped me. Living and working in conflict and developing countries gave me an intimate experience of my own strength, fragility, and gumption as well as insights into the world that most of us rely on the news or National Geographic for. This life has prepared me to accept the ever-changing current of the tides and to float instead of swim, dropping resistance to what is; being at peace in the storm.
